A Miami-Dade Sheriff’s deputy was arrested in Roswell and is facing federal charges that she produced and received child sexual abuse material, some of which was allegedly created in Atlanta.
FBI Atlanta agents took 51-year-old Carle Miranda Blum into custody in the north Fulton suburb. She is accused of producing child porn involving herself and a 17-year-old minor.
➡️ What’s Happening: According to a federal complaint, Blum received multiple videos and images of a 17-year-old victim engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Federal officials also allege that in the spring of 2025, Blum traveled to Atlanta, where she recorded multiple videos of herself engaging in sex acts with the same victim, who was a minor at the time.
⚖️ The Charges: A federal complaint charges Blum with two counts: receipt of visual depictions involving the sexual exploitation of minors and production of visual depictions involving the sexual exploitation of minors.
⛓️ Between the Lines: The charges carry significant mandatory prison time if there is a conviction. The charge for producing the material has a mandatory-minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years in prison. The receipt charge carries a mandatory-minimum of five years and a maximum of 20 years. A federal district court judge imposes sentences based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines.
🤝 The Big Picture: The investigation and arrest involved a significant multi-agency effort. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Florida is prosecuting the case, with assistance from FBI Miami and the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia and FBI Atlanta assisted in Blum’s apprehension and arrest in Roswell. The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide Department of Justice initiative started in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation.
