Theolis Coney, a man wanted across multiple counties for violent felonies, was captured this afternoon in Candler County after a tip from citizens led deputies to his location.
The Details: Deputies conducted two separate search operations over the weekend in connection with Theolis Coney, who had been evading law enforcement despite multiple arrest warrants for serious charges, including home invasion, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and parole violation. Although these initial operations did not result in Coney’s arrest, they did lead to the apprehension of another unrelated wanted individual.
Coney’s luck ran out this afternoon when a citizen’s tip pointed authorities to his hiding place. Deputies, with the assistance of the UAV team, quickly moved in to make the arrest.
What’s Next?: Coney now faces prosecution for his charges across several counties. Authorities in Candler County have reminded others who may be on the run that the area is far from a safe haven.
