CANTON — Downtown Canton is undergoing changes as work begins on North Street to install a new sanitation enclosure and grease trap to serve the restaurants and businesses in the area.

To ensure the safety of workers and pedestrians, the left lane of traffic will remain closed for the duration of the project.

The closed lane will span from the corner of Dupree Street and North Street to the crosswalk at Cannon Park. The estimated time to complete this project is six weeks, depending on the weather.

The City of Canton Downtown Development Authority has provided funding for this project, which is a significant investment in the infrastructure of the downtown area.
