A strong thunderstorm was pushing toward Moultrie Friday afternoon, bringing gusty winds and small hail to parts of Colquitt County.
What’s Happening: Doppler radar placed the storm 7 miles north of Pavo and 8 miles southeast of Moultrie at 3:34 p.m., moving north at 10 mph. It is producing wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea-size hail.
What’s Important: The main risks are falling tree limbs and objects being blown around by wind. Minor hail damage to plants and vegetation is also possible.
How This Affects Real People: Anyone outside in the storm’s path should go inside a building now. Affected communities include Moultrie, Norman Park, Doerun, Riverside, Schley, Berlin, Funston, Pineboro, Autreyville, Spence Airport, South Moultrie, Sigsbee, Moultrie Municipal Airport, Crosland, New Elm, and Murphy.
