Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock didn’t mince words at the Democratic National Convention tonight. Addressing the crowd to support Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate, Warnock delivered a scathing critique of former President Donald Trump.

Warnock labeled Trump as “a man too small for the office entrusted him or the task set before him.” He pointed to January 6th as more than just a singular event, but a “cancer that has metastasized” into widespread efforts to suppress votes across the nation.

“Elections are about the character of a country,” Warnock declared, before asserting that “Donald Trump’s America is the America of January 6. People who have no vision traffic in division. He does not know how to lead us and therefore he seeks to divide us. Donald Trump is a plague on the American consciousness.”

In a particularly pointed remark, Warnock suggested that instead of merely endorsing a Bible, Trump should “try reading it.” Quoting scripture, he added, “It says do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly.”

Warnock also expressed gratitude for President Joe Biden, praising him as a “true patriot who has always put the people first.”

He concluded by endorsing the Harris-Walz ticket, calling it “the new way forward,” and asserting, “We’re not going back because we are the United States of America. We always dream about the future.”
