Georgia’s COVID-19 outlook isn’t getting any better and the state’s spike in coronavirus cases is only expected to get worse over the Thanksgiving holiday.
On Saturday, the Georgia Department of Public Health reported 3,053 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 3,270 positive results from rapid tests. The state also crossed the 400,000 case mark, posting a total of 402,435 total cases.
A total of 8,624 people have died from coronavirus with an additional 555 deaths that were likely caused by the virus.
There have been 34,023 hospitalizations fro COVID-19, and hospitals are starting to reach capacity. The Director of Cobb-Douglas Public Health Dr. Janet Memark has announced that hospitals in Cobb County are at capacity and has asked residents to stay home.

The CDC is also recommending that people stay home for Thanksgiving and avoid gatherings with people who do not live in the same house with them.
White House Coronavirus Task Force coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx said Saturday that the spread of coronavirus was faster and broader than ever before and the CDC announced that half of the spread of coronavirus comes from people who show no symptoms of the virus.
Georgia is currently averaging more than 2,500 new coronavirus cases per day and an average of 26 people in Georgia are dying each day from the virus.
