A Georgia Woman Called Police After Hearing Cries for Help. Police Discovered a Homicide Scene

In the early hours of Wednesday, a quiet Buford neighborhood became the center of a homicide investigation that has left one man dead.

The Gwinnett County Police are currently piecing together the events that unfolded at a residence on 3200 Ivy Birch Way, following a distressing call that led officers to a grim discovery.

According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, at about 1:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area after a report from a concerned caller. She reported hearing loud noises and desperate grunts for help, prompting an immediate response from local law enforcement.

Upon arrival, officers were drawn to a house with lights on, indicating someone might be in need of assistance. After making contact with the occupants and noticing signs of a physical altercation on one of them, officers secured the scene and conducted a thorough search of the premises. Inside, they found an adult male, deceased.

Police say preliminary findings suggest an argument among the house’s occupants escalated into a physical confrontation. Detectives have since detained a person believed to be the suspect in this incident.

The Gwinnett County Police Department is urging anyone with information related to this case to come forward and assist in their ongoing investigation. Witnesses or those with relevant information can contact GCPD detectives at 770.513.5300.
