Gwinnett County’s Brookwood High School is on high alert with additional support from the Gwinnett County Police Department today after a threatening message was found on a bathroom wall at the school yesterday.

According to school principal Brett Savage, a threat was written on the bathroom wall with a bullet that was placed on a toilet. A photo of the message and bullet was shared on social media.

“We spent much of the day investigating and had increased school resource officer support after we became aware,” Savage said in a letter to parents. “We are continuing our investigation as we have not yet confirmed who vandalized the restroom and wrote the threat.”

Today, the school has additional support from Gwinnett County school resource officers and an increased police presence from the Gwinnett police department.

Savage said school officials will continue to pursue every lead they have and administrators will maintain high visibility.

“I am very sorry that this has happened today and am furious that we live in a time where we must constantly question the safety of our children,” Savage said in his letter.
