MARIETTA — The Cobb County Police Department is investigating a murder-suicide involving two 19-year-olds that occurred at a home on Olive Springs Road in Marietta on Saturday. 

Cobb County 911 dispatch received a call in reference to shots being fired at a home on Olive Springs Road at about 9:25 a.m. The call was updated with information about a woman being shot at that location.

Cobb County officers arrived on scene and located a man and woman, later identified as 19-year-old Eduardo Landaverde 19-year-old Crystal Mendez dead in the vicinity of the front yard. 

Police say both had injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. There was a handgun located close to Eduardo.

According to the Cobb County Police Department, this incident appears to have stemmed from a domestic dispute and all evidence on scene is consistent with a murder-suicide. 

This remains an active investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 770-499-3945.
