Georgia man charged with murder after telling police his wife shot herself

LAWRENCEVILLE — Gwinnett Police responded to a suicide call which turned into a homicide investigation.

Glenroy Roberts, a 51-year-old Lawrenceville man, has been charged with felony murder and aggravated sssault in the death of his wife, 45-year-old Claudia Roberts.

What We Know: On Aug. 2 at about around 9:15 p.m. officers at the responded to a person shot call on Bethesda Church Road

On the phone the caller stated his wife had shot herself. 

When officers arrived, they found the victim dead with a gunshot wound to the head. 

Police say Roberts told officers they had been in an argument and his wife had shot herself. 

Gwinnett Homicide Unit, the Crime Scene Unit, and the Medical Examiner responded to the scene to investigate. 

During the investigation, police say it was determined that Claudia had more than one gunshot wound, and multiple shell casings were found in near her body.
