Calhoun City Schools says goodbye to retiring educators
The Calhoun City Schools’ Board of Education hosted a Retirement Reception on Monday, May 23 at Calhoun’s Early Learning Academy to honor retirees: Sharon Bennett, Patricia Cox, Lynn Davis, Dr. Suzanne Dobson, Pam Erwin, Lavone Fowler, Laura French, Cindy Futch, Patti Gilmer, John Hayes, Chip Henderson, Marcia McCollister, Dr. Michelle Palmer, Suman Patel, Laura Ruth, Stephen Stewart, LeGaina Sutherland, Deena Walker, Kitty Weaver, and Tammy Westerlund.
The reception gave friends and family members an opportunity to congratulate each of the retirees.
National Guard Center in Marietta celebrates Georgia Service Academy Day
The Clay National Guard Center in Marietta hosted students during the annual Georgia Service Academy Day. The event was sponsored by U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff and included remarks by Adjutant General of Georgia, MG Thomas Carden Jr. and other senior leaders along with U.S. Service Academy representatives.

Haralson County Sheriff Stacy Williams and Sheriff’s Office personnel bought barbecue plates to Mosaic in Cedartown in support of the Tallapoosa Judicial Circuit’s Family Treatment Court.
Johns Creek mayor celebrates Women Veterans Day
Johns Creek Mayor John Bradberry joined with the Johns Creek Veterans Association to commemorate Women Veterans Day, which is traditionally celebrated on June 12. The ceremony was held at the Veterans Memorial Walk at Newtown Park.
