Suspect in South Georgia smash and grab burglaries arrested

A man suspected of committing several business smash and grab burglaries in Albany and the surrounding area is in custody.

According to the Albany Police Department, 49-year-old Samuel L. Baxter was taken into custody Thursday by Thomas County investigators on suspicion of committing the same type smash and grab burglaries that were committed in Albany.

Albany police investigators issued five warrants Friday against Baxter in connection with the cases there and additional charges are pending.
