Road rage blamed for Greene County homicide

A South Carolina man died in Greene County, Georgia after being shot multiple times. Authorities say the man was a victim of road rage.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. the Greene County 911 center received a call about a wreck at mile marker 132 on I-20 in Greensboro, Georgia. The call came at about 6:45 a.m. Friday.

Deputies responded to the area and upon arrival, they discovered 30-year-old Joseph Lee Briggs Jr., of Manning, South Carolina was dead at the scene and had suffered what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.

According to the GBI, Briggs was a victim of road rage while driving on I-20. The GBI investigation remains active and ongoing.
