ATLANTA — Police in Atlanta tracked down a homicide suspect in a ride share vehicle.

Police responded to the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and I-20 to assist Cobb County Police officers who were searching for several suspects in that area.

According to police, one of the suspects was tracked to a nearby apartment complex where officers observed him entering a ride-share vehicle. An Atlanta police officer quickly determined the suspect had asked a bystander to order him the ride and the officer located the bystander and used his phone to track the ride-share vehicle until a traffic stop could be made.

Once the ride-share vehicle was stopped, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Officers determined the suspect was 21-year-old Ahday George, who was wanted by the Atlanta Police Department’s Homicide Unit on charges of felony murder and aggravated assault.

George was wanted in connection with a homicide that occurred Jan. 20, involving a man who was shot to death and found inside a burning Chevrolet Impala.

Officers also located two firearms George had allegedly hidden as he was being pursued. George was transported to the Cobb County jail and will be brought to the Fulton County Jail once released from Cobb County.
