The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit, working with the Atlanta Police Department, has arrested a suspect in the murder of a man at a Decatur funeral last month.
Sheriff’s investigators arrested 29 year-old Denard Juantez Conyers of Atlanta at an Atlanta residence on charges of Aggravated Assault and Murder in the shooting death of Russell Filmore.
According to the arrest warrant, both men had been engaged in an argument at a funeral on Dec. 20 in Decatur when the shooting occurred.
Conyers was arrested without incident and transported to the DeKalb County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
