GAINESVILLE — Police in Gainesville need your help finding a suspect in a bank robbery that occurred Tuesday morning at a BB&T on Jesse Jewel Parkway.

The robbery occurred at about 10:15 a.m., when the suspect entered the business through the main lobby and walked up to a bank teller. The suspect passed a note to the teller demanding that money be handed over or that the teller would be shot, police say. Once the teller handed over the cash, the suspect fled the bank on foot.

The robbery was caught on surveillance cameras and police have obtained warrants for 54-year-old Anderson Dixon of Atlanta. Dixon is charged with Terroristic Threats and Armed Robbery. Police are asking anyone with information on Dixon’s whereabouts to contact them at 770-534-5251.

“We would like to thank our community, FBI, GBI, Hall County Probation and Hall County Sheriff’s Office for their roles in providing vital information during the course of the investigation,” Gainesville Police Chief Jay Parrish said in a statement. “How the bank employees responded while in fear for their lives should also be commended. We are fortunate no one was physically hurt during this incident, but we must continue to show those involved our support as we move forward.”
