In Georgia this weekend, residents should keep their umbrellas handy as a series of showers and thunderstorms are expected to pass through the region. The National Weather Service forecasts a 30 percent chance of showers for Saturday, mainly after 2 p.m., with the day remaining partly sunny and reaching a high near 72 degrees.

Saturday night will see increased activity with a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m., transitioning to scattered showers between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. The likelihood of showers and possibly a thunderstorm increases after 4 a.m. The night will be mostly cloudy with a low around 58 degrees. While the wind, coming from the south at 5 to 10 mph, is not notably high, gusts could reach up to 15 mph. The chance of precipitation for the night is 60%.

On Sunday, showers and possibly a thunderstorm are certain, with a 100% chance of rain. The day’s high is expected to be near 67 degrees. The south wind of 10 to 15 mph will shift westward in the afternoon, with possible gusts as high as 30 mph.

The weather will begin to clear up Sunday night, though there’s still a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 p.m., followed by a possibility of showers until 1 a.m. The skies will then become partly cloudy with a significant drop in temperature to a low around 33 degrees. The northwest wind will be stronger, blowing at 15 to 20 mph, and could have gusts as high as 30 mph. The chance of precipitation decreases to 30% for Sunday night.
