It may not have been a surprising announcement, but Joe Biden’s announcement after weeks of pressure to drop out of the presidential race that he was dropping out of the race has sent shockwaves through the nation and the Peach State.
Some Georgia residents are mad, others elated, some have nothing but respect for the president and his decision while others smell something foul afoot — and then there are the conspiracy theorists.
Georgians took to social media to share their thoughts on the announcement and the future of this election cycle. Here is the good, the bad, and the ugly of what your neighbors are saying.
Thank you @POTUS for all you have done for America. History will judge you as one of our greatest Presidents. My statement is below:

I have had the distinct honor and privilege of knowing President Joe Biden, not just as a remarkable leader, but as a dear friend and mentor.… pic.twitter.com/UKOzFp4qb4
There’s a soft civil war happening in the deep state and the elites in power.

The Democrats, the IC, and their activists in the media have been lying to us saying there’s nothing wrong with Biden for years.
Next, they start a coup against him demanding he drop out of the race…
President Biden’s unprecedented act of selfless patriotism demands that we, as Americans, honor his example and elect a president who calls on the best in each of us.

Elections are about choice.

Joe Biden ran on ego and dropped leaving us with no primary to move forward.
His endorsement to Kamala is an ASTERISK to her hopeful presidency.
I wish KAMALA had been given the opportunity to earn the nomination and run on her own gifts.
Biden endorsing Kamala for a primary would’ve gone a lot farther than an 11th hour endorsement for an election.

Him dropping out of the race is fine.
But it’s like being stood up for a date. I can forgive a first date, but if you stand me up at the altar, we will NEVER be cool. pic.twitter.com/bBqkEnzlVF
Joe Biden is my hero.

Re: Kamala: She repeatedly and emphatically told the American public that Biden was fit for another 4 year term (when he clearly is not). It had nothing to do with a few months. She was talking four more years. So, she lied to keep him (and her) in power. This is disqualifying.

Seems like Harris will be the Dem nominee. The only problem is she's even more unlikeable than Biden with her under Trump by 3 in the polls nationally (as opposed to Biden down by 4).

It is still the GOP's election to lose unless they get a better Dem like Beshear or Shapiro.
Kamala has the exact same Black voter problem Biden did. This isn’t the Black electorate of the 2000’s or earlier. I’m not seeing how she can boost Black voter turnout without offering more to Black voters between now and Nov which I doubt she will.

It would be more of an undemocratic “coronation” if Biden’s delegates and the super delegates ignored him and got together and *actually anointed* someone NOBODY voted for. The “coronation” language is inaccurate, manipulative BS.

The best part is the republicans don't have an answer. They've spent years worth of money on a plan to defeat Joe Biden. Some people in Trump's campaign aren't even qualified to be in their positions anymore, lol.

Joe Biden has changed the trajectory of America’s future by sacrificing his election efforts to defeat a tyrant like Trump a convicted felon & to endorse his VP Kamala Harris to succeed him!
— IdeasNmind💡 (@JanZaxBee) July 21, 2024
His selflessness should be noted in the American achieves of history.#KamalaHarris2024
Joe Biden has been the worst President in my lifetime and I served in the US Navy during the Jimmy Carters years…

Biden made the most difficult decisions of his career alsois one of the best. In the tradition of Washington, exercising the ability to step away from power, also illustrating contrast between himself and his predecessor.

A true American,I’m proud to know him call him friend. pic.twitter.com/Eml9oc1WRJ
