VoiceNation in Duluth recently answered the call to help when Brittany Farris, a client account manager who lives in Dacula, heard from her uncle, Fire Captain David Sullivan of the Asheville Fire Department, and part of the Rescue Team for Hurricane Helene.
“I reached out to him after a few of my co-workers here at VoiceNation in Duluth asked how they could help with donations. My aunt had started a supply drive at Longstreet Clinic in Gainesville, and some of our family members were renting a U-Haul truck to take the donations to one of the sites In North Carolina for a handful of fire departments to distribute accordingly,” said Farris. “I asked Richard and the team if we could do a supply drive here to contribute, and they were all onboard – this past Friday, we dropped the donations off and they were delivered Saturday.”
Captain Sullivan was in touch with six additional departments in his area to determine the greatest need, with the list of items highlighting the incredible needs of those affected, including battery-operated lanterns/extra batteries, personal care items for men and women, food that could be eaten cold and has a long shelf life, Gatorade, juice boxes, water, fruit cups, squeeze pouches, granola bars, individual chips, diapers, wipes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and blankets.
“So many people want to help in the aftermath of a disaster like Helene but aren’t sure what they can do,” said Richard Culberson, CEO North America of Moneypenny and VoiceNation. “We were grateful Brittany shared her family’s effort with us and allowed ours to be a part of it – it was our privilege to be do something for the first responders on the frontline of the recovery.”
Moneypenny and VoiceNation are continuing to collect community donations for The American Red Cross and Georgia Emergency Management – those interested can email marketing@voicenation.com to coordinate a drop-off.
