A pedestrian was hit by a train at the Grove Road railroad crossing in Locust Grove, shutting down a main route and leaving drivers searching for a way around. The incident blocked both Peeksville and Grove earlier today.

City officials say a pedestrian was struck at the Norfolk Southern line’s Grove Road crossing, forcing a shutdown of the area.

  • Drivers were being told to use Colvin Drive to the north or Jackson Street to the south as alternate routes.
  • The crossings have reopened now.

According to Henry County fire officials, the 47-year-old pedestrian was killed in the collision.
