A strong storm system will be moving through parts of north and central Georgia Saturday night through Sunday evening bringing with it strong wind, thunderstorms and the possibility of tornados.
According to the National Weather Service, isolated thunderstorms are possible Saturday afternoon and evening across portions of north and central Georgia. Some of Saturday’s storms could contain gusty winds and frequent lightning.
Sunday is when the storm activity will pick up and reach its most dangerous. Scattered severe storms are expected beginning as early as Sunday morning, as a strong storm system moves across the state. Damaging winds and a few tornadoes can be expected.
The threat of severe weather will end Sunday evening.
Thunder storms could return again Thursday and Friday as another front moves into the state.
