On August 28, 2023, Maury-Ange Faith Martinez, a 20-year-old resident of Alpharetta went missing. Initially reported in Gwinnett County, her disappearance puzzled investigators and concerned her family and community.
Despite thorough search efforts, leads were scarce, and the case seemed to stall.
However, further investigation revealed that Maury-Ange’s last known location was actually in Cobb County, near Powers Ferry Road, not Gwinnett County. This new information shifted the focus of the investigation and brought renewed hope for answers.
Then, on January 5, 2024, human skeletal remains were discovered in rural Chattanooga. The Hamilton County Medical Examiner confirmed that the remains were those of Maury-Ange Faith Martinez. This confirmation brought a tragic end to the search for Maury-Ange but also opened up new lines of inquiry for the investigators.
The Cobb County Police Department is now urging anyone who may have seen or had contact with Maury-Ange around the time of her disappearance to come forward. Even the smallest piece of information could be crucial in understanding what happened to her.
