10-year-old boy found after running away when being checked into Hughes Spalding Hospital

ATLANTA -- Atlanta Police are asking for your help finding a 10-year-old boy who ran away from Hughes Spalding Hospital while his aunt was checking him in.

Update: According to the Atlanta Police Department, Mario Boyd has been found and is in good health. The original story is below.


ATLANTA — Atlanta Police are asking for your help finding a 10-year-old boy who ran away from Hughes Spalding Hospital while his aunt was checking him in.

According to police, officers responded to 35 Jesse Hill Jr. on a missing juvenile call at about 4:30 a.m. today.

Upon arrival, officers met with the child’s aunt who said she was checking the child into Hughes Spalding for medical care when the child ran away from the hospital headed towards Edgewood Ave.

Responding units, along with K-9 officers immediately began canvassing for the child.

He has not been located at this time.

The child’s name is Mario Boyd, he is 10 years old and was last seen wearing a Black T-shirt, with a photo of his father on the front, with white writing, “My Dad’s Angel” on the back, blue jeans, and no shoes.  

The last address he was seen was: 35 Jesse Hill Jr. The child is believed to be suffering a crisis at this time. The investigation remains highly active as the canvass continues.
