A fire broke out at a Valdosta tire shop Wednesday, but firefighters managed to stop it before it spread inside the building.
🚒 What Happened: Just before noon on Wednesday, the Valdosta Fire Department rushed to a commercial fire at Marquez Tire Shop on West Hill Avenue. Within three minutes, crews were on the scene, where flames and smoke were visible outside the structure.
💨 What Firefighters Did: Firefighters moved fast, preventing the fire from entering the building and keeping damage contained to the exterior. No injuries were reported.
🚗 What About the Car?: Photos of the scene raised questions about whether a car also caught fire. Fire Department spokesperson Erica Thrift confirmed the fire was on the other side of the vehicle, which was not involved.
🔎 What’s Next: Investigators are working to determine what started the fire.
