Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that an 18-year-old from Newnan was arrested on March 8 in connection with two Coweta County fires.

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that an 18-year-old from Newnan was arrested on March 8 in connection with two Coweta County fires.

“At approximately 4:00 a.m. that morning, the State Fire Marshal’s Office was requested by Coweta County Fire Rescue to assist in the investigation of a mobile home fire and a separate but related travel trailer fire,” said Commissioner King. Officers from the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office were informed of the man’s involvement in the fires, and he was subsequently arrested in a nearby mobile home.”

The man is charged with Reckless Conduct, Criminal Damage to Property, and two counts of First-Degree Arson.
