A Savannah public school teacher now sits in jail after police say he groomed a minor for sex.

What’s Happening: Chatham County Police arrested 32-year-old Jawan Johnson Sunday evening and charged him with grooming a minor for a sexual offense.

  • The victim is a former student of Johnson’s at a Savannah-Chatham County Public School System school.
  • Johnson is being held at the Chatham County Detention Center.
