Six Flags Over Georgia will introduce a new family thrill ride, Georgia Gold Rusher, this spring, blending high-speed action, spinning gondolas, and water features with a theme inspired by Georgia’s 19th-century gold rush.

“Georgia Gold Rusher hearkens back to a nostalgic era of our park, where thematic storytelling was at the forefront of everything we did,” said Greg Fuller, general manager of Six Flags Over Georgia. “This revolutionary attraction and the investments made throughout the park will help enhance our guest experience around every turn.”

The ride includes a 590-foot U-shaped track, outward-facing spinning gondolas, multiple high-speed launches, a 144-foot peak, and speeds reaching 60 miles per hour. Guests will also experience a dynamic water feature, including a scenic splash.

Themed around the story of William “Willy” Gibson, a fictional prospector and entrepreneur, the attraction integrates immersive theming, such as mining equipment, signage, and décor, into the park’s Lickskillet area. Originally announced under the name Georgia Surfer, the ride has been reimagined as part of the park’s broader focus on storytelling and guest experience.

Lickskillet, one of the park’s original expansions from 1968, has also been updated to reflect the gold rush theme. Additional improvements in dining, retail, and décor are planned for other popular areas, including Retro USA and Promenade.

Georgia Gold Rusher opens in spring 2025. Season passes are available for purchase on the Six Flags Over Georgia website, offering unlimited visits, free parking, and discounts.

Six Flags Over Georgia features more than 40 attractions, including roller coasters and the seven-acre Hurricane Harbor water park. It is part of Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, the largest regional amusement-resort operator in North America.
