GRAYSON — A woman was found dead Sunday morning at a home in unincorporated Grayson, and Gwinnett County police say they are now treating the death as a domestic-related homicide.
What’s Happening: A neighbor called police at 8:42 a.m. after finding someone dead on the 300 block of Wilkerson Way. Officers arrived, found the victim, and called in homicide investigators and crime scene investigators.
What’s Important: Based on early findings, police say the case is being investigated as a domestic-related homicide, meaning investigators believe the victim and the person responsible may have known each other or lived together. Police say they believe the situation was contained and that neighbors are not in danger.
What’s Still Unknown: The victim’s name has not been released. Police say they are waiting until the victim’s family has been notified. Little else has been confirmed.
The Path Forward: Police say more details may be released as the investigation moves forward. In Georgia, a murder conviction carries a potential sentence of life in prison.
