ALPHARETTA -- The Alpharetta Police Department is reminding residents to protect their valuables and not leave expensive items in their cars.

ALPHARETTA — The Alpharetta Police Department is reminding residents to protect their valuables and not leave expensive items in their cars.

According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, thieves broke the windows of several cars between restaurants on Mansell Road and Avalon Thursday night.

At least six laptops were taken, along with other valuables the victims left in their cars.

The department is asking residents to remind their families and friends not to leave anything of value inside their vehicles.

The department has recorded smash and grab crimes at all hours of the day at businesses, restaurants and overnight in neighborhoods.
