DOUGLAS — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office in an investigation into the death of an inmate at the Coffee County Jail.
At approximately 5:15 a.m Tuesday, Nov. 5, 32-year-old inmate Amy Renee Tyson was found deceased in her cell at the Coffee County Jail.
According to the GBI, Tyson was being held in the medical department of the jail after having been arrested on Sunday, on drug related charges.
She was transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Macon where an autopsy will be performed.
