What happened: Around 12:28 p.m. on June 28, a man approached two vehicles at a home on Hermer Circle in Atlanta and slashed their tires with a knife. A Ring doorbell camera captured the suspect on video. Investigators with the Atlanta Police Department’s General Crimes Unit are handling the case as vandalism.

What you can do: Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta, a tip line that lets people report information without giving their name. Tips can be submitted four ways: – Call (404) 577-8477 – Text “CSGA” to 738477 – Visit www.stopcrimeatl.org – Use the P3 Tips app

The reward: Crime Stoppers Atlanta is offering up to $5,000 for information that leads to the suspect’s arrest and indictment, which means a grand jury formally charges the person with a crime. Tipsters do not have to identify themselves to be eligible for the reward.

The path forward: Police have not announced any arrests in connection with the June 28 incident. The public appeal was issued August 5, about five weeks after the tire slashing took place.
