Here’s Why Traffic Was Backed Up in Jackson County This Morning: All lanes are now clear on State Route 11 E at Concord Road (mile marker 10.95) in Jackson County following an earlier crash. We can’t really tell from the picture what happened, but it doesn’t look pleasant.

Another Turkey Day Closure: Heads up, Cochran residents! City Hall will close at 11 a.m. tomorrow as staff relocates to dining rooms across town for the Annual Turkey-Induced Nap of 2024. If you’ve got urgent business, today’s your chance—regular hours are in effect until closing tomorrow.

City Hall reopens Monday, December 2. In the meantime, you can report issues online at cityofcochran.com. Until then, enjoy your own turkey coma.

Thanksgiving Break: Chatham County offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, with regular business resuming Monday, Dec. 2. Yard waste and bulk pickup for Wilmington Island will still happen on Friday, Nov. 29.



Holiday Hours: Norcross City Hall will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, for Thanksgiving, reopening Monday, Dec. 2. Sanitation and recycling services will skip Thursday, with collections running one day behind through Saturday.
