Bibb County police officers are searching for clues in the murder of an unknown man in the early morning hours on Friday.
A Bibb Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy discovered the man lying in next to the road at the corner of Popular and Third Street at around 1 a.m. Friday morning. The deputy noticed that the man had been shot.
The victim was immediately transported to the Navicent by ambulance. According to the hospital staff, he died at about 3:30 a.m. The man’s identity is not known at this time.
Through the course of the investigation, deputies discovered that the unknown male was involved in an altercation at a local night club, prior to the incident. Investigators are continuing to speak with possible witnesses to determine what happened and also identify the man.
Investigators are looking for a gold or tan in colored GMC Yukon or Tahoe that was seen in the area when the incident occurred.
