A 24-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle early Sunday morning on Emery Highway near Lexington Street in Macon. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at approximately 2:30 a.m. after receiving a call about a person down in the area.
The Details: Upon arrival, deputies discovered that the pedestrian, identified as Jaxon Bilbrey, had been hit by an unknown vehicle. The driver involved in the fatal collision did not remain at the scene, and the vehicle has yet to be identified.
Bilbrey was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bilbrey’s body will be transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab for an autopsy as investigators continue to gather evidence.
