History Cherokee Opens Ticket Sales for Annual Preservation Awards Banquet

CANTON History Cherokee has announced that tickets are now available for the Annual Historic Preservation Awards Banquet. This event celebrates individuals, homes, and businesses that have significantly contributed to preserving Cherokee County’s history.

The banquet will be held on Thursday, August 22, at 6:30 p.m. at the Cherokee County Conference Center at The Bluffs. The evening will feature live music by Kurt Lee Wheeler, a cocktail hour, a cash bar, and the awards ceremony. Sheriff Frank Reynolds will deliver the keynote address.

  • Tickets: $35 per person (price increases to $45 after 5 p.m. on August 5)

The Historic Preservation Awards are selected by a committee of volunteers who evaluate nominated properties and engage with property owners. Last year, the awards recognized several notable properties, including the Rusk Family Cemetery in Woodstock, the Roberts Lake Dam & Power Generation Facility in Ball Ground, Dot’s Fine Wine & Craft in Ball Ground, Downtown Kitchen Building in Canton, the Wilson-Clark Home in Canton, and the Cox-Luman Homeplace in Waleska.
