Fatal July 4th Collision on Powder Springs Road: One Dead, One Injured

🚨 Incident Overview: A fatal collision occurred on Powder Springs Road on Thursday, July 4 at 5:57 p.m., resulting in one death and one serious injury.

📍 The Details: The crash involved a red 1999 Isuzu Rodeo driven by Carl E. Scealf Jr., 59, of Marietta, and a maroon 2003 Honda Accord. Cobb County Police say Scealf’s vehicle, heading southbound, crossed into the northbound lanes near Smitha Middle School, colliding head-on with the car. Both vehicles came to a rest in the left northbound lane, the Isuzu on its side and the Honda facing north.

Scealf was taken to Wellstar Cobb Hospital where he died from his injuries. The driver of the Honda was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries.
