Georgia had it’s biggest single-day increase in reported COVID-19 cases Saturday.
According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, 1,800 new cases were reported today statewide. The previous highest single-day increase was April 7, when the state reported 1,598 new cases.
Georgia now has a total of 63,809 confirmed coronavirus cases and 2,642 deaths. There have been 9,837 hospitalizations and 2,140 ICU admissions.
Gwinnett County now has more than 6,000 confirmed cases, leading the state with 6,043 cases. Fulton County has the next highest infection rate with 5,444 cases.

In addition to being the highest single-day increase, Saturday was also the third time in June that the state has recorded more than 1,000 new cases in a single day.
