Dylan Raiola, UGA 5-Star Quarterback Commit, Scores 5 Touchdowns in First Half of Playoff Win

The first round of the Georgia high school football playoffs couldn’t have gone much smoother for Buford and five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola.

Raiola posted five touchdowns in the first half of Buford’s dominant win over Wheeler in the first round of the GHSA 7A state playoffs

The coveted Georgia Bulldogs commit watched from the sideline for the entire second half after the nationally-ranked Wolves built a 43-0 lead by halftime and went on to win by a score of 50-0.

Raiola completed 12 of 15 passes for 218 yards and four touchdowns, and he rushed for 32 yards and one touchdown in the first-round victory, which was also his first taste of playoff football in Georgia.

Raiola finished the regular season, his first with Buford after transferring from Chandler (Arizona), with 1,879 passing yards, 22 touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Buford and Raiola will hit the road next week, making a short trip to Norcross (9-2) for the second round of the 7A state playoffs.

The Wolves came in at No. 12 in the final SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25 national rankings of the regular season. Their only loss this season came against No. 8 Mill Creek.
