A suspicious package at a Johns Creek pregnancy resource center turned out to be a diaper bag

JOHNS CREEK — A suspicious package left outside a pregnancy resource center in Johns Creek caused the shutdown of an intersection and traffic delays Wednesday morning.

The book bag was discovered outside the front door of A Beacon of Hope at about 9:15 this morning, Johns Creek Police officials said.

The Johns Creek Police Department called in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s bomb squad to investigate the package. A scan of the package revealed that the book bag was being used as a diaper bag.

According to police, the bag contained baby supplies and diapers and appeared it was owned by someone who left it behind.

The intersection of Old Alabama Road and Nesbit Ferry Road was shut down while the bag was being investigated and part of Old Alabama Road was shut down as well.
