Everything you need to know about taking MARTA to the Peachtree Road Race

MARTA will provide additional bus and rail service on Monday, July 4 for the 53rd running of the AJC Peachtree Road Race. MARTA is also an efficient way to attend the Peachtree Health & Fitness Expo and experience the return of the southeast’s largest fireworks show at Centennial Olympic Park.

PEACHTREE HEALTH & FITNESS EXPO

  • Saturday, July 2 & Sunday, July 3
  • 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Georgia World Congress Center Hall C4
  • *Take MARTA to Mercedes-Benz/State Farm Arena/GWCC or Vine City Stations

“LOOK UP ATLANTA” FIREWORKS – Ticketed Event

  • Sunday, July 3
  • Park opens at 5 p.m. – Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.
  • Centennial Olympic Park
  • *Take MARTA to Peachtree Center or Mercedes-Benz/State Farm Arena/GWCC Stations

AJC PEACHTREE ROAD RACE:

  • Monday, July 4 beginning at 7 a.m. (wheelchair start – 6:25 a.m.)

MARTA rail service:

  • Rail service begins at 4 a.m.
  • Riders are encouraged to use the Gold Line to travel to the race 
  • The Atlanta Streetcar will run from 8:15 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.

MARTA bus service:

  • Prerace: Beginning at 5 a.m., bus shuttles will run between Lindbergh Center Station and the race starting line
  • Post-race: Bus shuttles will run from Piedmont Park to Lindbergh Center Station
  • Many buses will be rerouted during July 4 activities. Visit MARTA (itsmarta.com) for details.

KNOW before you go:

  • BREEZE CARDS: Visit Breezecard.com to ensure your card has not expired, reload your card, or purchase a round-trip ticket.
  • RESTROOMS: Public restrooms are available at 16 rail stations, with additional portable toilets stationed at Midtown and Lindbergh Stations. See a rail map for details.
  • SAFETY: Uniformed MARTA police officers and Transit Ambassadors will be available if you need assistance.
