Two more arrested in Paulding County triple homicide

What’s New?: Police have arrested two more suspects in connection with a triple homicide that occurred in Paulding County on March 21.

All three victims died from their wounds.

What Happened?: According to detectives, at about 10:49 p.m. on March 21, Paulding 911 was contacted by a resident at a home on Chesapeake Way in Rockmart indicating that a triple shooting that had just occurred.

The caller said two individuals came to the home and met with the three male victims.

As a result of their investigation, detectives have determined that it appears as if the two men came to the Chesapeake Way home in order to rob the three victims. Initially, two of the victims succumbed to their injuries on scene and the third victim was in critical condition. several days later, the third victim died as a result of his injuries.

The Victims: The victims of the shooting were 42-year-old Clinton Matthew Aiola of Rockmart, 30-year-old Cody Daniel Fuller of Dallas, and 30-year-old Davauntee Anthony Ramsay of Rockmart.

First Arrest: On March 24, Paulding Deputies and Deputy U.S. Marshals arrested 26-year-old Carlos Favors-Battle in Douglasville where he resides. Detectives charged Favors-Battle with three counts of felony Malice Murder, three counts of Murder during the Commission of a Crime, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, three counts of Aggravated Assault with Intent to Rob/Murder and a Probation Violation Warrant.

Second Arrest: On April 1, 28-year-old Bridgette Skye Jones was arrested by Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office without incident. Jones was subsequently transported to the Paulding County Jail. Sheriff’s officials say Jones was in the area of the crime scene when the crime occurred and had direct knowledge of the incident.

Third Arrest: On April 6, U.S. Marshals arrested 29-year-old Justin Quartez Sims in Rome, without incident. Sims was subsequently transported to the Paulding County Jail as well. Detectives have determined that Sims was the other individual that accompanied Favors-Battle into the home when the homicide occurred.

The Charges: The three suspects are charged with the below listed offenses. All three are being held in the Paulding County Jail without bond.

  • 3 Counts Malice Murder (Felony)
  • 3 Counts -Murder During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime (Felony)
  • 3 Counts Aggravated Assault With Intent to Rob/Murder (Felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (Felony)
  • Probation Violation Warrant

Justin Quartez Sims

  • 3 Counts Malice Murder (Felony)
  • 3 Counts -Murder During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime (Felony)
  • 3 Counts Aggravated Assault With Intent to Rob/Murder (Felony)

Bridgette Skye Jones

  • 3 Counts Concealing the Death of Another (Felony)
  • Hindering Apprehension of a Fugitive (Felony)

“It is also very likely that additional charges could be taken against all three suspects in this case,” said Paulding Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Ashley Henson.
