A Georgia homeowner was shot attempting to stop thieves breaking into his car

A Lee County man was shot last night after his security camera alerted him to someone near his car. When he went outside to investigate, he was shot multiple times.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, several cars in a subdivision north of Stapleton Drive in Lee County were broken into.

The break-ins and shootings occurred at about 3:50 a.m.

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.

GBI officials are searching for two vehicles connected with the shooting. Both vehicles are pictured in this article.
