Former Georgia police Major charged with theft of $4,500

MCDONOUGH — A former McDonough Police Department Major has been arrested and charged with theft of about $4,500.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested 47-year-old Chad Rosborough, of Meansville, on Tuesday. Rosborough was charged with three counts of Theft by Taking and two counts of Violation of Oath of Office.

On June 19, 2019, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was asked by McDonough Police Chief Preston Dorsey to investigate an allegation of theft by Rosborough while in his capacity as acting Commander of the Flint Circuit Drug Task Force. 

According to the GBI, the investigation revealed Rosborough unlawfully took about $4500.00 from the task force.
