Clark Atlanta student and her boyfriend indicted in murder of roommate

A Fulton County Grand Jury has indicted a Clark Atlanta student and her boyfriend in the murder of her roommate.

The Grand Jury indicted 22-year-old Jordyn Jones and 21-year-old Barron Brantley Friday.

According to the indictment, Jones and Brantley, who were in a relationship at the time of the incident, are responsible for the murder of 21-year-old Alexis Crawford on Oct. 31, 2019.

Crawford and Jones were roommates at Clark Atlanta University. Jones and Brantley were indicted for causing Crawford’s death by asphyxiation through the use of a garbage bag.

Jones and Brantley are accused of placing Crawford’s body into a trash bin and dumping it in Exchange Park in DeKalb County.

Brantley was also indicted for one count of Aggravated Sodomy for unlawfully and forcefully sodomizing Crawford on Oct. 26, 2019, five days before the murder. 

Brantley faces seven counts as part of this indictment, including: 

  • Murder
  • Felony Murder
  • Aggravated Assault
  • False Imprisonment
  • Concealing The Death of Another
  • Aggravated Sodomy

Jones faces six counts as part of this indictment, including:

  • Murder
  • Felony Murder
  • Aggravated Assault
  • False Imprisonment
  • Concealing The Death of Another

A certified copy of the indictment will be available when it is processed by the Fulton County Superior Court Clerk’s Office.
