Playground equipment recalled due to entrapment concerns

The Recall: About 440 playground climbers manufactured by BCI Burke and distributed between Nov. 2015 and August 2019 are being recalled due to an entrapment hazard. The product being recalled goes by the name Merge Playground Climbers.

The Danger: A welded rung opening on the sides of the climber can pose an entrapment risk to children.

The Fix: Consumers should immediately stop using the Merge Climbers and block them off from children’s use. BCI Burke is contacting all known owners directly by certified mail, and Burke representatives will inspect and replace climbers that are not compliant with the current voluntary standard for this product.

Incidents: There have been no reported incidents of entrapment or injuries.
