Effingham County intersection to be closed for 45 days while roundabout is installed

EFFINGHAM COUNTY — A new roundabout is coming to Fort Howard and Old Augusta Roads.

Starting Jan. 4, the intersection at Fort Howard Road and Old Augusta Road will be closed for about 45 days in order to construct a roundabout at this intersection.

Traffic will be directed to use Ebenezer Road (Hwy 275) as a detour.

Dollar General access will remain open throughout the construction. A through-way at Grace Lane may be used for local traffic only during this time from Fort Howard to Old Augusta road.

Grace Lane is to be used only for local traffic, not for commercial truck traffic.
