23 Dogs Rescued From Gainesville Home

Start

Hall County Animal Services rescued 23 dogs on Thursday, Oct. 10, from a home on the 4000 block of Thompson Bridge Road in Gainesville, following concerns about the animals’ living conditions.

The Details: Animal Control first responded to the property on Monday, Sept. 23, for a welfare check. During that initial visit, the homeowner refused to allow officers onto the property. After obtaining a search warrant, officers returned to the residence with the support of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office on Oct. 10.

Once inside, officers discovered 23 dogs living in unsanitary conditions without access to water. Several violations related to animal welfare were noted, sparking an ongoing investigation by Hall County Animal Control.

How You Can Help: Large-scale rescues like this increase the need for animal adoption and foster homes. Anyone interested in adopting or fostering one of the rescued dogs can visit the Hall County Animal Shelter. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or prospective adopters can browse available pets online.
