Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will install overnight triple lane closures on the south end of  I-285 this weekend in Clayton and Fulton counties.

Weather permitting, three left lanes will be closed on I-285 westbound from Airport Tunnel to SR 314/W. Fayetteville Road bridge from 7 p.m. Friday, May 1 until 5 a.m., Monday, May 4. These closures will ensure safety for work crews and drivers as crews perform asphalt paving activities.

The lane closures are related to the resurfacing project on I-285 from the west end of Airport Tunnel Road to SR 14/US 29/Roosevelt Highway, a span of about 3.5 miles.

GDOT officials say this $20 million resurfacing project will deep mill, inlay and restripe the deteriorating roadway.
