LAWRENCEVILLE — In a devastating incident Saturday morning, a house fire ravaged a house on the 1000 block of Tumble Wood Trail in Lawrenceville. Gwinnett County Firefighters were alerted to the blaze at 6:16 a.m., after a concerned neighbor called 911 upon waking up to the smell of smoke.

Upon arrival at 6:21 a.m., firefighters were faced with a single-family dwelling fully engulfed in flames. Bystanders informed the responders that there might be a person still inside the residence. Firefighters deployed multiple firehoses in an attempt to suppress the inferno. However, the intense heat and thick smoke made it challenging for the search teams to navigate the premises.

Tragically, during their efforts, firefighters discovered the lifeless body of a woman in one of the bathrooms. Unfortunately, two family pets also perished in the blaze. Fire investigations at the scene have established that the fire was accidental in nature.

Due to Federal Patient Privacy Laws, commonly known as HIPAA, the victim’s personal details cannot be disclosed by the firefighters.
