In a somber turn of events, the community of Manchester is grappling with a tragic incident. A’darius Jashawn Williams, 19, has been charged with the murder of 17-year-old Brandon Smith, a student at Manchester High School.

Smith was last seen on December 7, and reported missing shortly after. The grim reality surfaced on December 10, when a 911 call led to the discovery of Smith’s body behind a house on 3rd Avenue in Manchester. The circumstances suggested foul play.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been leading the investigation. Their findings indicate that an argument between Williams and Smith in Manchester culminated in the tragic shooting.

Williams is now in custody at the Meriwether County Jail.
